Hanworth House, East Brisbane

Hanworth House is a treasured heritage-listed home in Brisbane. It was built in 1864 using hand-made bricks for a Captain of the Royal Navy. The house was purchased in 1913 and has been a dedicated home for elderly women ever since. The 2013 restoration occurred after a devastating arson attack on the home which caused significant damage. McMillan Heritage Plastering completed extensive wall replacements throughout the home utilising sand and lime mortar with horse hair. Fibrous ornamental cornice was also fitted in a number of rooms.
